iClean were approached by a residential building manager at the start of February 2024, and by the second week of the month, the client was happy with the plan, the price quoted, which meant we were straight on site to complete the project. Based in central Manchester, they were seeking a full commercial window cleaning of their high-rise building that had not been cleaned for several years.
How Did We Prepare?
After receiving the full details of the project, we discovered that some additional planning was required. This was due to access restrictions relating to a suspended car park at the rear of the property, which had specific weight limitations. As a result, we worked closely with our access company to deploy the correct machine to the site to reach the windows and work safely.
Chosen Access Platform & Cleaning Tools
Upon assessing the size of the building, our team decided that the use of a truck-mounted platform was the most appropriate for the height and weight restrictions of the project. In doing so, this allowed for easy access to windows throughout the day without putting too much strain on the land below us.
Keeping in mind the level of dirt built up over the years, we opted for a traditional window cleaning method of applicator and squeegee. This method of window cleaning is ideal for deep levels of dirt because it is a hands-on approach and works into the glass through an applicator and squeegee. This is in contrast to reach and wash window cleaning, which is better suited to regular cleans as this maintains results achieved by an initial clean through traditional methods.
