After becoming unsatisfied with the standards of their previous supplier’s service, i-Clean were approached by a building manager from York at the start of 2024. Understanding the client’s frustrations, our team attended the site in question within the same week and provided a quote based on the requirements of the project. The task in hand involved a full commercial window clean using high-rise access platform machinery. We provided a fast turnaround quote, the client provided an instruction to go ahead, the project detail was uploaded onto our bespoke software system (for managing our workload) and our team was deployed to the site as soon as possible to get started on the commercial window cleaning in York.
Preparation Stage
After visiting the site, it became apparent that certain parts of the car park would need to be cordoned off to allow for safe use of our machinery. Due to the car park being shared, we had visited the day before the work was due to begin in order to cordon off the area properly ready for an early start at 6am the next day. Our team has a lot of experience in dealing with properties that have limited access therefore, preparing the day before was not an issue.
Machinery & Window Cleaning Technique
Our team decided that a truck – mounted access platform was the best choice for this commercial window cleaning in York. This is because it would allow for stability when cleaning the windows at the top of the high-rise building. By choosing this option, we were able to ensure the safety of our team whilst also meeting the requirements of the building height.
We used a combination of traditional window cleaning techniques with reach and wash window cleaning applied via water fed pole systems. The traditional method allowed us to wash the windows with ease and have a hands – on method to maintain a high standard of results. The water fed pole systems allowed us to reach more challenging areas that needed a specialist approach to some difficult access window cleaning.
Results
Due to the carpark being shared with another business, our business started this project at 6am to ensure our truck-mounted aerial access platform would NOT cause major disruption. The commercial window clean in York was completed by 2pm that day and it only took two of our team members. Upon completion, the building was completely refreshed and the customer was much happier with this service.
